Privacy

Haunt has no accounts and no sign-up. We collect as little as we need to make your costumes. This page says what that is.

What you give us

The place you pick and the categories and tags you choose. If you use "Fine-tune", also a height and a build tag. You choose all of these from buttons. You never type free text, and we never ask for your name or email. We send these choices, plus the Oct 31 forecast for your place, to Google's Gemini API to write your result. We store the result so your link keeps working. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it only if you want to. Results contain no personal details, and we may show the same result to other people who pick the same place and options.

Your IP address

We use your IP address to limit abuse, for example someone sending hundreds of requests a minute. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it, delete it automatically after a short time, and never link it to your result or use it to identify you.

Selfies (AI try-on)

If you use the try-on feature, the photo you upload is sent to our image provider to create your picture and is deleted within 24 hours. Use a photo of yourself only.

Payments

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller (merchant of record). They collect your payment details and email. We never see your card number. We receive only confirmation that an order was paid for a given result.

Cookies and similar storage

Haunt itself does not set tracking cookies. Third parties can: when you open an Amazon link, Amazon may set cookies so we get credit for a qualifying purchase, and if we show ads, our ad partners may set cookies. We only load ads after you accept. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser. Your choice, and whether you turned the music on, is saved in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.

Services we use

Google (Gemini) writes your result. While we use Gemini's free tier, Google may use the choices we send, including by human review, to improve its products; they contain no name, email or other personal details. MET Norway provides weather data; our server asks for it, so your browser does not contact them. Google Firebase hosts the site and stores the results described above. Amazon, Lemon Squeezy and any ad partner have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR, or Turkey's KVKK), you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Because we don't know who you are, send us the link of the result you want removed. Write to hauntcostume.help@gmail.com.

Children

Haunt is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

If we change this page, we update the date at the top.
